I am excited to announce that I have been nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award!
Thank you Sylver Blaque
I have written about Sylver before and am honored to have had the chance to work with her. Not only does Sylver’s blog cover a range of topics close to her heart, but it showcases her intelligence, commitment to study, and the kind soul that she is. I am lucky to have made a friend in this amazing lady! Sylver, our conversations have truly been a blessing and I LOVE your blog!
Because I wanted to share a link to the origin site, I did some researching to find it. I found nothing. So, I thought I would do some research in general on the award and cannot find anything. Google failed me! If anyone has any information, I would love to know where it all started so that I can give some credit.
The requirements are:
1. Thank the person who honored them with this award and post their links
2. Share 5 interesting things about myself
3. Nominate 5 bloggers for this award
Thank You Sylver!
5 Interesting things about myself:
I write 2 blogs (It is actually more, those aren’t MY blogs). This one, and The Palmetto Queen- where I talk about how I handle life and all the random things that I am made of!
I take on entirely too many projects
I LOVE to craft- I make jewelry and learned to sew when I was 5
My grandmother, father, and aunt all owned bars (each their own) and I worked in one for a year when I was 20
When I was 5 I wanted to be President!
I’m really not that interesting of a person (shocker, I know!)
Nominate 5 Bloggers
You guys have seen my favorite bloggers on here, so I want to do something different. Today, I am nominating other blogs I read that I ADORE. This is just a random list of my other favorite bloggers- no particular niche! It does make me sad that so many of my favorites don’t blog anymore. You should all visit these lovely ladies- I promise you will enjoy the ride!
If you enjoy these blogs, visit me at The Palmetto Queen
Do you have a blog suggestion for me, I’m always looking for new bloggers to follow!

I constantly find myself heading to google and searching “similar to …..” or “website like….”
I do this because I’ll come across a tool that I want to use, but I need other features or I want to see my other options before I settle on the service.
When a NighLon reader told me about Websiteslike.org I was excited to give it a try.
It’s really easy to use- just put the website you are looking for an alternative to in the search bar, and click search.
You will then be redirected to a page listing your search. Click the link after website like at the bottom of the box containing your search.
I am always looking for better ways to manage my social media, so I searched for sites like Gremln.
As you can see, websiteslike.org will provide you with a list of similar websites. Included in the list is the former name of Gremln (really handy). It also gives you a summary of the site and the option to see sites like those.
Websiteslike.org provided me with a list of sites that offer all the types of features that Gremln offers. So, I now have a list of social media and scheduling tools.
You could even use this site when researching. If you are reading on one site, and you want to find another opinion or perspective, search the site you are using.
I am really loving this tool, and I use it several times a week. I hope it proves to be as useful to you as it is to me.
What are your must have tools?

I’m sharing a little something different with you today.
We all sometimes need to take a break from work in order to stay creative and fresh, this is REALITY.
This was definitely true for me today. I have been doing so many different projects that I was on the edge of burnout. (Some projects were NighLon, some were project from “real life”) I got some work done and decided to do something just for me.
Of course, I’m sure you have figured out by now that I am a completely random person with a son, a husband, and a ton of different interests.
I started The Palmetto Queen so that I will have a place to talk about the other parts of my life.
To talk about being a mom, a wife, a “ghost hunter” and all the other random hobbies I pick up.
NighLon is not going anywhere, and I will not be posting any less, I just needed something for my personal life.
This is also where I will be sharing pictures of my little guy, crafts, organizing tips, and my favorites.
I hope you visit The Palmetto Queen and follow me there, I promise it will be entertaining.
Be sure to visit me there.
What have you done for yourself lately?
How do you keep your creative spark and drive?

Some of you already know this spectacular lady!
Not only is Sylver one of the most interesting people I have had the honor of meeting, she is just an amazing person in general.
